Long Weekend in Copenhagen
Last weekend I snuck away for a long weekend in Copenhagen, with Giordie and a friend of hers from Australia! Copenhagen is one of my favourite cities and this was my third trip back. You can read all about my first visit to this beautiful city here. I love the contrast of old and new in Copenhagen. The new, modern architecture, although so different from the original buildings, seems to blend in seamlessly. If you've read some of my previous posts you'll know that I love street art. Especially when it's incorporated into older areas. Copenhagen has embraced street art and uses it to make the construction around the city come to life. This small city is full of colour and character and it makes me smile every time I'm there :)
One of my other favourite spots in Copenhagen is Nyhavn Harbour. It's a beautiful harbour with colourful old houses that date back to 1681. It's a popular destination with amazing restaurants and ice cream parlours. Of course, we had to stop for some ice cream, even though it was -4 degrees and breakfast time.
As always, I had such a fun time in Copenhagen. I still can't get over the fact that I can catch a train, to another county, just for a long weekend! I hope you've had a great start to 2018, I know I have, and I'm looking forward to more adventures this year.
Cheers, Jess :)
